DHANGADI, MAY 5
CPN-UML Chairperson KP Sharma Oli said CPN-Maoist Centre Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal had turned into a mere ghost of his former self after joining the so-called coalition led by the Nepali Congress.
Addressing an election gathering in Kailali's Bardagoriya today, the UML chair quipped, 'He was like a lion when he was a UML chairperson. Look what he has made of himself - just a rat, that too, wet in the rain.'
He claimed that CPN-MC and CPN-Unified Socialist weren't able to even organise election gatherings. 'They can't organise their own election rallies and have been tag-alongs at election gatherings conducted by Nepali Congress where they can't even get to speak,' he said.
'As they couldn't get to speak, they lamented their fate. That's why Congress allowed them to address the gathering in Bharatpur today. So, I want to congratulate both of them for getting a chance to speak just because Prachanda's daughter is a candidate from there,' Oli said.
Oli also questioned the status of Madhav Kumar Nepal in the coalition now.
'While in UML, he would never tire of complaining of below-the-belt treatment to him, I wonder how he's feeling now.
He can't even get to share the stage and has to swallow it all,' Oli remarked.
On a different note, the UML chief accused the coalition of just aiming to grab state power.
'The gang-up of parties is not for developing the country; it's rather for their own benefit and the benefit of their cronies,' he alleged.
