Silence period for local polls begins

The silence period for the local level elections being held on May 13, have come into effect.
The rules corresponding to the dos and donts for the polls started from Tuesday midnight.
According to the Election Commission, during this period, all election related campaign and publicity - including discussions, mass gatherings, interactions, among other election related actions will be forbidden.

Likewise, the poll body has said that all campaigning materials seem around 300 metres from the voting stations will be taken down.
Any form of publicity - be it on print, digital or social networking sites - are strictly forbidden during this probation period.
On the day of election, i.e. Friday, all transportation other than the emergency ones will be banned from playing the roads.
Furthermore, a strict prohibition has been imposed on the sale on consumption of alcohol till the voting process is over.
