Prez Bhandari condoles death of UAE president

KATHMANDU, MAY 14

President Bidhya Devi Bhandari has sent a message of condolence to Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, vice-president and the prime minister of the United Arab Emirates, on the passing away of the President of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

Sheikh Khalifa died yesterday at the age of 73.

Ministry of Foreign Affairs in a press release stated thatlate Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan was a visionary leader and great statesman who made tremendous contribution to the progress, prosperity, and modernisation of the UAE.

Meanwhile world leaders have also extended condolences on the demise of United Arab Emirates president The UAE will observe 40-day mourning, during which flags will be flown at halfmast, while work will be suspended across the public and private sectors for three days.
