MoFAGA set to implement nutrition-friendly programme

The Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration has invited application from eligible government employees for their inclusion in the Training of Trainers for the purpose of producing competent human resources and engaging them in coaching local level employees in nutrition programme.

According to a notice published by the MoFAGA on it website, the applicants will have to fill out the interest form and send it to the ministry within one week. It said the ToT would be conducted at the provincial level by selecting trainees from among employees of all the local levels.

The ToT is part of the 'Nutrition-friendly Local Level Implementation Directive, 2022' intended to address the nutritional needs of lactating mothers, infants, children, adolescent girls and vulnerable people at the local levels.

Interested and eligible local employees willing to participate in the ToT will have to fill out the interest form with necessary details and information. The candidates for the ToT will be selected on the basis of criteria developed by the MoFAGA.

Officer-level employees, who have gained experience related to formulation of policy, programme, and budget of local levels, and obtained educational qualification of at least bachelor's degree along with general knowledge on information technology will be eligible to participate in the ToT. The directive envisions the provision of building a healthy, prosperous and civilised human capital and aims to make all 753 local levels nutrition-friendly by 2030.

Section Officer Chiranjeevi Nepal at the MoFAGA said a format form was sent to all the local levels. As per the MoFAGA, the ToT is necessary to achieve the objectives of the directive.

The objectives include improvement in nutritional status of women, children and adolescent girls; institutionalisation of multi-sector practices in nutrition and adoption of nutrition-friendly good governance by pursuing reforms in local level policies, plans, programmes and service delivery.

According to the MoFAGA, the local levels, elected representatives and employees will also be provided with orientation.
