PM Deuba inaugurates Gautam Buddha International Airport, International service officially commences with first Jazeera flight

KATHMANDU, MAY 16

Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has inaugurated the Gautam Buddha International Airport, the second international airport of Nepal, today, in Bhairahawa.

The inaugural flight was operated by Nepal Airlines' widebody and its first international operations was conducted successfully by Jazeera Airways, which landed from Kuwait at around 7 in the morning today.

The landing of the flight marked the initiation of international flight services from Gautam Buddha International Airport.

The airport will operate commercial flights starting June 12.
