Bagmati govt unveils policies and programmes

HETAUDA, MAY 30

Bagmati Province government tabled its policies and programmes for fiscal year 2022-23 in the Provincial Assembly today.

The highlight of the province's policies and programme is that it accords priority to agriculture and animal husbandry.

Presenting the policies and programmes at the Province Assembly, Bagmati Province Governor Yadab Chandra Sharma said that the government would modernise and commercialise agriculture. The policy envisions making the province self-sufficient in eggs, fish, meat, potato, onion, garlic, and ginger.

The 169-point policies and programmes has laid its focus on producing quality manpower through skill enhancement, creating employment opportunities, increasing productivity, reducing poverty and increasing good governance.

The policies and programmes envision developing Bagmati Province as an education hub.

The policy speaks of increasing the quality of education in community schools and also setting up information technology and science labs in public schools.
