BUTWAL, JUNE 5

Nine people were killed and 24 injured when a bus fell off a bridge over the Rohini River in Rupandehi's Rohini early this morning. The bus was on its way to Butwal from Janakpur when it met with an accident.

The deceased have been identified as Bishnu Poudel, Tulsi Poudel, Krishna Prasad Bashyal, Rajendra Prasad Pandey, Dinesh Das, Nagendra Sharma, Arvind Sharma, and Sanjay Gupta, said DSP Nabaratna Poudel. One of the casualties has yet to be identified.

The bus was carrying 33 passengers, including two drivers and one helper.

All of them are being treated at Bhairahawa Medical College.

The condition of 16 is said to be critical, according to police.
