MoHP urges people not to drop guard as COVID cases spike

The Ministry of Health and Population has urged one and all to adopt precautionary measures and stay away from crowded areas in view of the rise in COVID-19 cases.
Issuing a press release today, Assistant Spokesperson for the ministry, Dr Samir Kumar Adhikari urged all to mandatorily wear mask and use sanitiser in crowded areas.
The ministry has also urged all to compulsorily wear masks in government and non-government offices, as well as in populated areas and asked offices to arrange sanitisers at their entrance gates.
The ministry has called for all airports and public transport service providers, including flight operators, to make mask-wearing and sanitiser-use mandatory.
The ministry has asked schools, universities, religious spots, commercial and recreation centres, and stadia to ensure mandatory use of masks. The health facilities have been asked to put necessary measures for pandemic control and treatment management.
The ministry has directed the authorities concerned to effectively operate the anti-COVID vaccination programme and asked those unvaccinated to receive their jabs at the earliest.
