Hong Kong's Cathay Pacific to launch direct flights from Kathmandu to Hong Kong from October 1

KATHMANDU, JULY 29

Cathay Pacific, Hong Kong's home airline, is launching a non-stop weekly flight between Kathmandu and Hong Kong from October 1.

According to the statement issued by Cathay Pacific, Nepali residents and visitors can now make the most of their travel with great connections, thoughtful service and enhanced comfort when flying Cathay Pacific from Kathmandu to Hong Kong and onwards to their favourite destinations in the USA, Canada, Australia, Japan and many more.

'All flights will depart from Tribhuvan International Airport and can be booked on the Cathay Pacific website.'

Cathay Pacific's Head of Sales and Country Lead, Junu Maleku said, 'We are delighted to be welcoming and operating Cathay Pacific into Nepal. Customers flying to Nepal can now experience comfort on Cathay Pacific's Airbus A330-300, providing travellers with an unsurpassed cabin environment on its Kathmandu–Hong Kong route, the statement further reads.

'The aircraft, which is configured with a two-class cabin layout, features Business and Economy class, which come equipped with state-of-the-art inflight-entertainment offering four times the content.'

The customers can enjoy the business class with privacy partitions, adjustable lighting, expansive tables, power outlets and one-click seating and sleeping settings, comfort of a fully flat bed and soft bedding accompanied with bold flavours from Cathay Pacific's restaurant-style dining along with Cathay Pacific's largest lounge, The Pier, Business, modelled after seminal Hong Kong experiences for the business class customers transiting via Hong Kong, the statement explained.

Whereas, the economy class offers economy seats that are ergonomically designed with cushioning and an adjustable headrest to provide maximum support for the head and neck and ample legroom to stretch out during their journey.

The airline has also offered the flexibility to choose what suits them when booking their flights. Similarly, it has introduced its Fly Ready tool that allows passengers to upload their covid-19 test results and other required health documents 48 to 12 hours before their flights to Hong Kong.

The airline also launched the Fly (worry) Free programme, allowing travellers greater flexibility in their bookings with the option to make unlimited ticket changes, including changes to travel dates as well as destination, until 31 December 2022. No fees will be charged for changes; however, any tax or fare differences may apply, the airline said.
