DHANGADI, JULY 31
Saying that traffic police were tormenting them, auto rickshaw drivers have started agitation in Dhangadi.
Agitating drivers complained that they were forced to shut their service and hit the streets after the traffic police started issuing fine chits.
They had parked autos on the street from Dhangadi Sub-metropolitan City to LN Chowk protesting against the traffic police.
Agitating auto drivers staged a quiet rally at LN Chowk from early morning. Drivers bemoaned that traffic police were charging a fine ranging from Rs 500 to Rs 1,500 on a daily basis for not having licence.
Drivers, however, said that they did not have licence as the Transport Management Office had not opened examination for electric auto rickshaws.
