Himalayan Bank, American Express launch two new cards

KATHMANDU, AUGUST 10

Himalayan Bank Ltd (HBL) and American Express have launched two new Cards - Himalayan Bank American Express Credit Card and Himalayan Bank Prepaid American Express Card in Nepal, catering both to outbound travellers and local customers.

Himalayan Bank American Express Credit Card is targeted at shoppers and travellers offering local and global benefits. Himalayan Bank American Express Prepaid Card is best suited for international students and travellers.

Ashoke SJB Rana, chief executive officer of HBL, said, 'American Express has been our long-standing partner and we are happy to take this relationship forward with the launch of two new products targeted at different set of customers.'

Himalayan Bank American Express Credit Card offers 0.5 per cent cashback on all local transactions, including online, in Nepal and maximum cashback of Rs 3,000 per annum.

Himalayan Bank American Express Prepaid Card offers 0.5 per cent cashback on all local transactions, including online, in Nepal with maximum cashback of Rs 2,400 per annum.

Similarly, Himalayan Bank American Express Credit Card offers complementary additional night on bookings of minimum two nights at Club Himalaya, savings of 10 per cent on shopping at United Colors of Benetton outlets, up to 15 per cent on all items at Sports Plaza, 33 per cent at Missio and up to 10 per cent at Epic Mountain Bikes. It also offers access to LoungeBuddy Lounges across the globe, 10 per cent off on bookings at RentalCars.com and up to 15 per cent savings on bookings at Avis Cars.

The Himalayan Bank American Express Prepaid cardholders can save up to 15 per cent at Sports Plaza, 33 per cent at Missio and up to 40 per cent on Booking.com.

Divya Jain, vice-president and business head, Network Partnerships, South Asia, American Express, added, 'The launch timing coincides with ongoing reopening of global travel and upcoming festive season, allowing card members to leverage these benefits fully. International students also tend to move to other locations during this time.'
