Woman braves leopard to save her son

A leopard attacked and injured three-year-old Sulabh Pariyar at Baniyatar of Bandipur Rural Municipality in Tanahun last evening, But his mother Laxmi Pariyar braved the jungle cat to snatch away her son from its clutches.
Earlier at around 5:00pm, the leopard had mauled a goat belonging to Hem Bahadur Rana, a local of the same place.
The leopard had then entered the nearby human settlement and attacked the minor at around 6:00pm yesterday while he was playing, confirmed Division Forest Office Chief Komal Raj Kafle.
Laxmi also chased the leopard when it took away her small son. Local eye witness Basu Pantha said Laxmi was able to snatch away her son from the clutches of the beast.
The injured child received primary treatment at Moti Health Clinic in Dumre Ward No 4 of Banidpur. He was then sent to Bharatpur-based Chitwan Medical College for further treatment, former chairperson of Bandipur Rural Municipality Purna Singh Thapa said.
Minor Pariyar has received injuries on his neck and other body parts.
