Nepal records 271 COVID-19 cases on Wednesday

KATHMANDU, AUGUST 31

The national active Covid-19 caseload of Nepal active caseload has reached to 3,194 on Wednesday as 224 people tested positive for the infection in past 24 hours.

The latest reported number of infections carried the nationwide tally to 997,346 while the death toll remains at 12,001 as one fatality was recorded today.

Meanwhile, the total coronavirus recoveries stand at 982,151 with 175 discharges logged today.

As per the latest data provided by the health ministry, a total of 3,920 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours of which 2,485 were PCR tests while 1,435 were antigen tests.

With this, a total of 5,890,203 PCR tests have been carried out till date.

Similarly, antigen tests confirmed 47 positive cases in the past 24 hours. Nepal's Covid-19 recovery rate stands at 98.5%, while the fatality rate stands at 1.2%.

Currently, there are no individuals in any quarantine facilities across Nepal.
