NA thematic panels polls on Sept 8

KATHMANDU, SEPTEMBER 2
The National Assembly will elect chairpersons of all its four thematic committees – Sustainable Development and Good Governance Committee, Legislation Management Committee, Delegated Legislation and Government Assurances Committee, and National Concerns and Coordination Committee - on September 8.
National Assembly Chair Ganesh Prasad Timilsina today ordered the Parliament Secretariat to hold elections for chairpersons of thematic panels.
Chairpersons of these committees serve for two years. According to Assistant Spokesperson for the Parliament Secretariat Dasharath Dhamala, lawmakers can file their candidacy for the panel chair on September 7. Timilsina today directed NA Secretary Rajendra Phuyal to publish notice related to the election programme.
Posts of chairs of three panels - Sustainable Development and Good Governance Committee, Legislation Management Committee, and Delegated Legislation and Government Assurances Committee - have remained vacant since March 5. The post of chair of National Concerns and Coordination Committee fell vacant on August 2.
