Limbu, Goverdhan receive NSC PoY Awards

The National Sports Council honoured 16 individuals including four players with different awards during the closing ceremony of its 59th Anniversary here today.
National Football team skipper Kiran Kumar Limbu and para-taekwondo player Palesha Goverdhan received the Player of the Year awards in senior category, while athlete Sandip Tharu and Evana Thapa got the PoY Awards in junior section.
Among the NSC employees, Dilli Ram Kafle and Prakash Man Maharjan received the best NSC Service Awards and they received Rs 25,000 each.
Deepa Bastola, Jeevan Gautam, Arjun Bahadur Karki and Sajani Manandhar got the NSC Service Awards. Keshav Kharel was named the best employee among those working on contract basis. Likewise, Mahesh Acharya of The Himalayan Times and Muna Karki of RSS were honoured with sports journalism awards.
Also, Bharatpur Metropolitan City (best local-level body), Nepal Triathlon Association (best association) and Kamaru Trading Pvt Ltd (best sports kits manufacturer) were also honoured on the occasion. A total of 141 NSC employees were also felicitated for their 25 years and 20 years of services at the sports governing body.
Patron of the NSC Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba, Minister for Youth and Sports Maheshwor Jung Gahatraj, NSC Vice-president Shiva Koirala, MoYS Secretary Damodar Regmi, NSC Member Secretary Tanka Lal Ghising, Maj Gen Sitaram Khadka among others handed over the awards.
