HETAUDA, SEPTEMBER 10

Rastriya Prajatantra Party-Nepal Chairperson Kamal Thapa said that the much talked-about coalition among the ruling parties was cooked up at the behest of foreign powers.

Speaking at a cadres' meeting in Hetauda today, the RPP-N Chief claimed that foreigners were making considerable effort to defeat CPN-UML. 'In fact, the popular government led by UML fell apart just because foreign powers were not happy after the government published a revised map of the country,' he said, also claiming the hand of the former king as well as foreign powers, behind the nemesis of RPP.

When I was in RPP and a deputy PM under the Oli-led government, we had stood firmly against the India border blockade. This was why our party too was targeted, he said. As to how the former adversaries - Nepali Congress and CPN-MC - had come to join necks in the coalition, Thapa said the public was well in the know of this matter. 'Otherwise how would it be possible that the leaders who didn't hesitate to issue threats against each other would be locked up in a coalition now,' he said.

Further, the RPP-N leader cautioned people against the coalition and stressed the need of a coalition among nationalist forces.
