KATHMANDU, NOVEMBER 1

The Election Commission has dispatched the first shipment of logistics to all 77 districts for election to the House of Representatives and provincial assemblies scheduled for November 20.

According to a bulletin published by the election panel, as many as eight districts out of 77 have already received complete shipments of election logistics. These districts include Dolpa, Mugu, Jumla, Humla, Bajura, Gorkha, Manang and Sindhuli. Other districts will get the remaining logistics within a few days, reads the bulletin.

The EC has transported 93 trucks of logistics so far. It said that it would take some time to supply election materials to districts in the Tarai with more population and constituencies.

The logistics comprise ballot boxes, ballot papers, swastika seals, stationery, and other materials.

Meanwhile, the EC said printing of ballot papers under the first-past-thepost electoral system has been almost completed. Only ballot papers for seven districts - Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Bhaktapur, Bara, Dhanusa, Sarlahi and Rautahat - remain to be printed.

Similarly, the printing of ballot papers under the proportional system is over and they have already been transported to all the districts.

As per the EC, around 40 million ballot papers under the proportional system and 31.4 million under the first-past-the-post electoral system have been printed. Districts that have received ballot papers so far are Gulmi, Arghakhanchi, Palpa, Rupandehi, Pyuthan, Kapilvastu, Rolpa, Dang, Salyan, Rukum East, and Rukum West.
