DAMAULI, NOVEMBER 1

An eight-year-old child lost his life to a leopard attack in Byas Municipality, Tanahun, on Tuesday.

According to Inspector Narahari Adhikari of District Police Office, eight-year-old Abhinav Kunwar died when he was attacked by a leopard in Chhirkane, Ward 12 of Byas Municipality at about 6:00pm in the evening. 'He was with his grandmother in the cowshed when a leopard attacked him and took him away,' said the inspector, adding that the leopard had left the child some 200 metres away from the cowshed. Villagers who were searching for the minor found him dead near the shed.

Police have said preparations are on for post-mortem of the body. Just more than a week ago, 11-year-old Bina Chepang had lost her life in a leopard attack in Sisneghari, Ward No 3 of Bandipur Rural Municipality, Tanahun.
