CPN threatens to disrupt polls

The Election Commission has expressed apprehension that Netra Bikram Chand-led Communist Party of Nepal could pose threat to the November 20 House of Representatives and provincial assemblies elections.
The recently concluded Congress of the CPN had decided to boycott the general elections and cancel it. At a press conference on Wednesday, Chief Election Commissioner Dinesh Thapaliya said that the Chand-led CPN could pose a challenge and informed that serious discussions were with the security agencies in this regard. He informed, 'We have revised the security strategy.'
The security agencies also perceive that the Chand-led CPN group can be a threat to the elections, according to the EC chief.
