KHOTANG: People of Baksila, Khotang district, are facing food shortage. They said Nepal Food Corporation’s (NFC) depot at Baksila has not supplied foodstuffs to them though the office has 30 quintal of rice. People in northern Khotang (Baksila, Eselukharka, Sapteswor, Phedi) are facing food crisis. This area of the district was hit by drought for a long time. Baksila depot chief Ganesh Pokhrel said the office has not distributed the rice due to instructions issued by the NFC district office, Khotang. Meanwhile, NFC district chief Birkha Bahadur Rai said they plan to distribute the rice after holding an all-party district meeting.
