BIRGUNJ, NOVEMBER 16
Of the four constituencies in Parsa, the Nepali Congress has fielded candidates in three and Loktantrik Samajbadi Party in one.
While Loktantrik Samajwadi Party has fielded Laxmanlal Karna from Constituency-1, NC candidates Ajay Chaurasiya, Surendra Prasad Chaudhary and Ramesh Rijal have filed their nominations from constituencies 2, 3 and 4.
In constituencies 2 and 4, NC's Ajay Chaurasiya and Ramesh Rijal are ahead of their rivals as they have the backing of the ruling coalition.
In Constituency-1, Pradip Yadav, a common candidate of CPN-UML and Janata Samajwadi Party-Nepal, NC's rebel candidate Ajay Dwibedi and Loktantrik Samajwadi's Laxmanlal Karna are in the election fray.
Karna was elected to the House of Representatives from Parsa Constituency-4 in the last polls. He is contesting the polls from Constituency-1 in the polls slated for November 20. Karna claimed that he was confident of winning the election.
Karna said that he had close relations with people of his constituency and expressed confidence that he would be elected as he was known in the village as a lawyer.
'People will trust my loyalty and vote for me,' he added.
Karna claimed that the five-party alliance would win the polls and form the next government. This is the fourth time he is contesting the poll.
'This is my last election so people will elect me looking into my sincerity and integrity,' he added.
The ground reality suggests that it is not easy for him to win the fourth poll though.
NC's Surendra Prasad Chaudhary, who is contesting the poll for the member of House of Representatives from Parsa-3, is the ruling coalition's common candidate.
He is facing off CPN-UML's Raj Kumar Gupta.
Chaudhary claimed that he would clinch victory easily. 'I have committed my life to the development of the district. Thus, I will secure victory without doubt.'
