KATHMANDU, NOVEMBER 19

The price of yellow metal increased while the price of grey metal witnessed a slight decline in the trading week between November 13 and November 19.

In the domestic market, gold price increased by Rs 800 per tola, while silver price fell by Rs 20 a tola during the review week.

According to the rate list of Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers' Association (FeNeGoSi- DA), gold price was fixed at 97,300 per tola when the market opened for trading on Sunday and decreased by Rs 100 a tola on Monday.

The price of the precious yellow metal increased by Rs 1,000 a tola on Tuesday before increasing again by Rs 200 per tola on Wednesday. Its price fell by Rs 400 a tola on Thursday before increasing by Rs 100 per tola to settle at Rs 98,100 a tola on Friday.

Meanwhile, silver was traded at Rs 1,300 per tola on Sunday and its price decreased to Rs 1,295 a tola on Monday. The price of grey metal rose by Rs 30 per tola on Tuesday, as per the FeNeGoSiDA. The price of the grey metal fell by Rs 30 a tola on Wednesday to Rs 1,295 per tola before decreasing further to Rs 1,285 a tola on Thursday. Silver price went down by five rupees per tola on Friday to settle at Rs 1,280 a tola in the review week.

According to Reuters, gold prices fell on Friday and were bound for weekly dip following indications from the US Federal Reserve officials that more interest rate hikes were due as the bank seeks to lower inflation. The dollar index steadied, making gold more expensive for other currency holders, while benchmark US Treasury yields also edged higher.
