Bajura chief district officer, security chiefs, CEO attacked

BAJURA, NOVEMBER 23

An attack has been reported on the chief district officer, security chiefs, and chief election officer in Bajura district.

As learnt, the CDO and the others' team was attacked in Bajura district headquarters Martadi's Lokatantrik Chowk when the team was on its way to the District Administration Office from the Office of Chief Election Officer.

'We were heading to the DAO after holding an all-party meeting when a few protesters attacked us,' said CDO Prakash Chandra Adhikari. 'There were cadres of All Nepal National Free Student Union protesting at the entrance gate of the Office of Chief Election Officer against the administration after we left the office and headed for the DAO, the same crowd of protesters attacked me, chief election officer and DSPs and SPs of Nepal Police and Armed Police Force at Ganatantrik Chowk,' the CDO informed.

Police have said a search for the attackers is under way. Protesters burned tyres at Ganatantrik chowk and are also said to have thrown black soot at the team.
