RSP wins two constituencies in Chitwan

CHITWAN, NOVEMBER 24

Rastriya Swatantra Party has secured victory in two of the three constituencies of the House of Representatives in Chitwan. While the party's Chairperson Rabi Lamichhane secured victory from Constituency No 2, Hari Dhakal from the same party eked out victory from Constituency No 1.

RSP chair Lamichhane won with a huge margin of over 34,000 votes against his closest rival Umesh Shrestha of the Nepali Congress. Lamichhane mustered 49,261 votes against 15,099 votes garnered by NC candidate Shrestha and 14,649 votes by CPN-UML's candidate Krishnabhakta Pokharel.

From Constituency No 1, Dhakal secured 34,189 votes to eke out victory against UML's Surendra Pande, who garnered 26,608 votes. Likewise, Bishwonath Poudel from the Nepali Congress bagged 24,990 votes.

Meanwhile, vote count in Constituency No 3 was continuing with Rastriya Prajatantra Party candidate Bikram Pande in the lead till this report was being prepared.

Regarding the Provincial Assembly election, UML's Jagannath Thapaliya and CPN-Unified Socialist's Krishna Khanal won from Constituency-1(A) and (B) respectively. Similarly, UML's Krishna Prasad Silwal and Nepali Congress's Uttam Joshi secured victory from Constituencies 2(A) and (B) respectively. From Constituency-3(A), NC's Gir Bahadur Tamang secured victory.
