NMA appoints three new members

Nepal Mountaineering Association (NMA) has nominated three new members to its executive board.

Nepal Mountaineering Association (NMA) has nominated three new members to its executive board.

Da Gelje Sherpa, Diwas Pokhrel and Nama Raj Gauli have been appointed to the central executive board of NMA as members, according to a statement issued by the NMA.

President of NMA Nima Nuru Sherpa administered the oath of secrecy to all the newly appointed members.

According to the NMA constitution, the president can appoint three members to the central executive board as members.

Among them, Sherpa was central executive board member and convenor of the welfare committee in erstwhile central executive board. Pokhrel is former secretary of the NMA.

All the newly appointed members also attended the central executive board meeting held after their sworn in ceremony.

After their appointment, the 27th member of NMA central executive board gets fulfilled.

The central executive board of NMA also briefed the advisors the progress report of six months and sought suggestions from them for upcoming programmes.

NMA President Sherpa briefed the advisors regarding its progress report with a PowerPoint presentation.

NMA, on the occasion of International Mountain Day, is organising Seventh Mountain Festival on December 10 and 11in International Mountain Museum (IMM) Rato Pairo Pokhara. The festival aims at reviving mountain tourism in post-COVID-19 by highlighting mountain products, culture and value. The festival will also try to bring bureaucrats, academicians, climbers, mountain tourism entrepreneurs and all the stakeholders together for the purpose. As it is a major event, the NMA board sought suggestions regarding the festival.
