KATHMANDU, DECEMBER 4

The Madhesi Commission has cautioned one and all to avoid inhumane, unconstitutional, and illegal acts taking place for the past few days on social media aimed at destabilising social harmony by targeting the Madhesi community.

Issuing a press statement today, the Commission said complaints were filed regarding the use of derogatory terms by some people on social media. The Commission is serious as such behaviour could even destabilise national unity, it added.

In response to the complaints, the Commission has said that it had written to the concerned authorities to book and take stern action against such individuals.

Asking one and all not to engage in such inhumane, unconstitutional and illegal acts, the Commission has cautioned all not to engage in such acts which are subject to punishment as per the existing laws of Nepal.

One can lodge complaints as per the Madhesi Commission Act 2074 (7) against individuals and organisations that target the Madhesi community or breach the rights of the Madhesi community.

Such complaints can be lodged by dialing 01- 5261185, the Commission's Hotline 1148, Toll Free No 16600116185 or through the Commission's email address and social networking sites.
