HoR lawmakers to be sworn in on Thursday

KATHMANDU, DECEMBER 19
The Parliament Secretariat on Monday issued a notice informing the newly elected members of the House of Representatives that they will be administered the oath of office and secrecy by the senior-most member of the House at 1:00pm on Thursday.
The swearing-in ceremony will be conducted in the HoR meeting room at the Parliament building in New Baneshwar. The Parliament Secretariat also asked lawmakers willing to take the oath in their mother tongues to provide the translation of the oath in their language of choice. It has asked lawmakers to appear for the swearing-in ceremony in national dress or the attire that reflects their culture.
Spokesperson for the Parliament Secretariat Rojnath Pandey said his office was still in the process of ascertaining the senior-most member of the HoR. Senior-most member will be determined by tomorrow from among the newly elected lawmakers.
The senior-most members will have to take the oath of office and secrecy from the president before administering the oath of office and secrecy to the other lawmakers.
