Maoist Chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal sworn-in as the new Prime Minister

'Fresh' parliamentarian Rabi Lamichhane makes huge leap, is now the DPM with Home portfolio

KATHMANDU, DECEMBER 26

CPN (Maoist Centre) Chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal has taken the oath of office and secrecy.

President Bidya Devi Bhandari had administered the oath of office to Dahal amid an official ceremony in Sheetal Niwas.

Meanwhile, three leaders of CPN-UML, CPN (Maoist Centre) and Rastriya Swatantra Party have been inducted in the newly formed cabinet as the Deputy Prime Ministers.

UML's senior leader Bishnu Paudel has been sworn-in as the DPM along with the Finance portfolio, Maoist leader Narayankaji Shrestha with Physical Infrastructure and RSP's chair Rabi Lamichhane with Home Ministry.

Likewise, three other lawmakers from Damodar Bhandari, Jwalakumari Sah and Rajendra Rai, and one from Janamat Party Abdul Khan have been inducted into the cabinet. Their portfolios will be eventually decided, it has been learnt.
