LAMJUNG: Bagmati Youth Club and RODS advanced to the semi-finals of the 30th Triveni Cup Football Tournament here on Saturday.
The Sarlahi-based Bagmati defeated Tokha Bhagawati of Kathmandu in sudden death after both the teams failed to score in regulation period and extra time. The two teams were separated after sixth shots in tie breaker.
Deva Gurung, Amar Shrestha, Dipesh Chamling Rai, Anil Rana and Suman Chamling Rai converted for Bagmati, while Abhinash Syangtang missed his shot.
Likewise, Ukrain Sherpa, Rajat Tiwari, Dipesh Gurung and Bille scored for Tokha, while Ensaun and Sajan missed their shots.
In another quarter-final match, the Rampur-based RODS came from a goal down to beat Birgunj United 2-1. Amar Dangol put Birgunj ahead in the 23rd minute before Dicka Serge levelled for RODS four minutes later and player-of-the-match Suresh Kumal netted the winner in the 36th minute.
On Monday, defending champions BYC will take on Samana FC, while Social Welfare play against Nakhipot Youth Club.
