Tribhuvan Army Club recorded their second straight victory in the seventh NVA National Club Volleyball Championship here at the National Sports Council covered hall today.
In men's section, TAC defeated Manimukunda Volleyball Club in straight sets to accumulate six points. The departmental side won the match 25-11, 25-20, 25-14 for their second consecutive victory.
The TAC had beaten Dawali Milan Kendra in straight sets in their first match.
In other matches, TipTop Help Nepal Volleyball Club defeated Budhanilkantha Volleyball Club 25-16, 25-19, 25-16, while Keshavlal Memorial Foundation of Bagmati Province made winning start beating Madhesh Province in straight sets.
In women's section, Hongwanji New Diamond Youth Sports Club began the campaign with a 3-0 victory over Nayabazaar Samajik Youth Club. The defending champions New Diamond dominated the match and conceded just two, eight and six points in three sets.
Also, Nepal Police Club recorded their second victory after the departmental team defeated Everest Volleyball Club 25-14, 25-9, 25-6 to accumulate six points.
A total of 23 teams - 15 in men's section and eight in women's category - are taking part in the championship organised by Nepal Volleyball Association. Top three teams in both categories will receive Rs 400,000, Rs 200,000 and Rs 100,000 respectively. The best players of the championship will earn Rs 25,000 each, while the best spiker, setter, blocker, server, defender and coach will get Rs 10,000 apiece.
