New Diamond, NPC enter final

Defending champion Hongwanji New Diamond Youth Sports Club and Nepal Police Club advanced to the women's section final of the seventh NVA National Club Volleyball Championship here at the NSC Covered hall today.

New Diamond came from a set down to beat Tribhuvan Army Club 3-1 in the semi-final match. After losing the first set 17-25, New Diamond bounced back strongly to win the next three sets. The defending champions won the second set 25-19 to level the scores before taking the third and fourth sets 25-16 and 25-18 respectively.

New Diamond will now face Nepal Police Club, who recorded a 3-2 victory over fellow departmental team Nepal APF Club. NPC won the first set 25- 15 before the last year's runners-up APF took the second and third sets 25-17 and 25-21 to take a 2-1 lead.

But the NPC rallied to win the fourth set 25-21 and took the match to final set. NPC win the fifth set 15-7 to complete the victory.

In men's section, defending champions Tribhuvan Army Club and TipTop Help Nepal Sports Club advanced to the final.

TAC defeated Nepal APF Club 25-23, 25-17, 25-17, while Help Nepal beat Nepal Police Club 25-21, 24-26, 25-17, 20-25, 15-8 in the semi-final matches. The finals are slated for Sunday.
