A delegation of Federation of Nepalese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) has paid a visit to Minister of Industry, Commerce and Supply Damodar Bhandari today to discuss the issues related to promotion of industries and businesses.

In the meeting, FNCCI President Shekhar Golchha apprised the minister that small businesses have been especially adversely affected due to unstable interest rates.

He also informed that rising fuel prices have not only increased the cost of doing business, but also added to the inflationary pressure.

FNCCI President Golchha also pointed at the possibilities of looming economic challenges over the next few years due to lack of investment after the COVID pandemic.

Since there was an agreement between the federation and the government last July about the implementation of National Economic Transformation (Net) 2030, the FNCCI requested for its continuation and cooperation during meeting.

The federation drew the attention of the minister to start-up policy and Minister Bhandari said that the policy has reached its final stage and will be passed soon.

In the meeting, FNCCI emphasised that the government should take an initiative for resumption of wheat exports from India. Minister Bhandari informed that discussions have been held with India regarding the issue and imports will be opened in the near future.
