Nepal win three silver medals

KATHMANDU: Nepali players won three silver medals in the Muay Thai Festival Thailand Cup Tournament held in Bangkok from February 1-6.
Genji Rai (34kg), Lal Bahadur Tamang (55kg) and Digbijay Singh Rathour (63.5kg) all finished second in their respective weight categories. Players from 24 countries participated in the tournament.
Apart from taking part in the tournament as coach and manager, President of WBC Muay Thai Nepal Raju Rai and Puran Thapa also represented Nepal in the international conference.
WBC Muay Thai Executive Secretary Col Thanapol Bhakdibhumi and World Boxing Council President Mauricio Sulaiman along with representatives of 24 countries were also present on the occasion. Rai highlighted about the scenario of Muay Thai and boxing in Nepal and also talked about establishment of professional boxing and Muay Thai platform for Nepali athletes.
