Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal said the National Academy of Medical Sciences would make further progress in research work in the coming days.

Addressing the third convocation ceremony of the National Academy of Medical Sciences today, Prime Minister Dahal said, 'I expect the institution to move forward to achieve more milestones in the research fieldby producing skilled technical manpower, providing effective services and addressing national needs.'

'Without transforming and developing the hospital as a medical education and training centre, accessible, effective, quality health services cannot be provided, research work cannot be made result-oriented.'

He said, 'Considering this reality, the foundation has developed government and community hospitals in Biratnagar, Bharatpur, Bhairahawa as teaching hospitals.'

The prime minister mentioned that service providers and individuals in the government health institutions were not providing effective services.

Addressing the students present at the ceremony, Prime Minister Dahal said, 'With the degrees you receive you have to show determination, perseverance and discipline to do something for society and the nation.'
