PPMO blacklists five construction companies

The Public Procurement Monitoring Office (PPMO) has blacklisted five construction businessmen and supplier companies for stalling the contracts of various public bodies.

Issuing a notice today, the PPMO has said that the companies have been blacklisted in accordance with the Public Procurement Act, 2007 after receiving complaints from various agencies. The companies will also be barred from participating in any procurement process of public bodies for as long as they are blacklisted.

According to the decision made by PPMO last Thursday, Engineers Construction and Mine Craft Pvt Ltd of Bharatpur-4 Chitwan has been blacklisted for a year for stalling the construction of a project in Ichakama Rural Municipality of Chitwan. Jai Gadhimai Nirman Construction Pvt Ltd has also been blacklisted for a year on the basis of a complaint filed by Khairahani Municipality of Chitwan.

Meanwhile, the PPMO has included Mudbhari and Joshi Construction Pvt Ltd into the blacklist for two years for failing to work as per the agreement reached for the construction of Rasuwagadhi Hydropower Company. Likewise, Guna Nirman Sewa has been blacklisted for one year after a complaint was filed from Barbardiya Municipality for abandoning a construction project of a campus in Kailali, while Kalpana Construction Pvt Ltd has been blacklisted for a year on the recommendation of Barbardiya Municipality.
