Team Tiger beat Team Lion, bag TIGON Cup

Kathmandu, March 18

Team Tiger won the TIGON Cup, an annual tournament organised by the Gokarna Golf Club here today.

Team Tiger defeated Team Lion by four points in the match-play tournament that features nine four-ball and 18 individual matches over nine holes. Team Tiger accumulated 29 points after they won 11 matches and seven matches were halved, while Team Lion won nine matches.

Binod Shrestha and Dhundul Namgyal of Team Tiger was the best-winning team in the tournament.

Shrestha and Namgyal won the honour on lucky draw after they were tied with their teammates Tashi Dong and Dawa Sonam Sherpa, and Team Lion's Joseph Nathan and Arjun Kumar Karki. Charlie Gurung was the best individual match-winner.

A total of 46 golfers - 18 players in each team - took part in the tournament, which was supported by Royal Salute Scotch Whiskey.

Managing Director of Gokarna Forest Resort Norbu Tshiring Sherpa, President of Gokarna Golf Club Suhrid Ghimire and Captain Joseph Nathan handed over the prizes to the winners.
