Kathmandu, May 8:
Tanka Dhakal, minister for information and communication, inaugurated Computer Bazaar, a hub established to promote sales of information and communication technology related products today.
Computer Bazaar consists of 24 organisations related to ICT industry and is located at Putalisadak in Kathmandu.
Speaking at the inauguration programme, Bhesh Raj Poudel, executive director of Ezee Network said that the establishment of Computer Bazaar has added new avenues to the ICT market of Nepal. “All kinds solutions related to IT could be sort out in the Computer Bazaar,” he said.
As all reputed IT organisations are part of the bazaar, customers could be assured of quality products. The main objective of the bazaar is to provide quality service for customers, Poudel added.
Biplav Man Singh, president of Computer Association of Nepal (CAN) said that Computer Bazaar is an amalgamation of IT industries which would help in promoting quality IT products. “Such markets have been successful in foreign countries and will also boom in Nepal,” he added.
Sugat Ratna Kansakar, managing director of Nepal Telecom said that such efforts by the private sectors should be encouraged. Spare parts, networking equipment, mobile sets, internet and e-mail services, web page and software developments, hardware and software training, furniture and books and magazines related to ICT, all could be found in Computer Bazaar.
