KATHMANDU, APRIL 20

A team of three Korean alpinists successfully stood atop Pangri Goldumba Peak in the Langtang region, making the first successful ascent of the 6,620-metre mountain.

According to Lakpa Sherpa, co-owner of 8K Expeditions Pvt Ltd, Son Hosung, Jeong Jihun and Park Joungyong from the Republic of Korea scaled Pangri Goldumba on April 11 becoming the first South Korean team to summit the virgin peak in Langtang.

According to Sherpa, the team managed by 8K Expeditions spent more than a month in the Langtang region to make it to the top of the scenic peak. ' Scaling a peak of this altitude requires a tremendous amount of skill, determination, and physical and mental fortitude,' Sherpa said adding that it also takes incredible courage and unwavering commitment to push past the limits of what we think is possible and achieve a goal that many can only dream of.
