NC lodges complaint against Lamichhane

KATHMANDU, APRIL 23

Nepali Congress, Chitwan has lodged a complaint against chairman of Rastriya Swatantra Party and Chief District Officer of Chitwan.

NC lodged the complaint, citing that they had violated the election code of conduct. During the election, chairman and candidate of Rastriya Swatantra Party Rabi Lamichhane asked for votes through Facebook Live and campaigned in the polling place. However, CDO Surendra Paudel ignored it.

Election representative of Nepali Congress Dhruv Raj Pokharel filed a complaint at the office of the Chief Election Officer. He submitted a complaint on behalf of Jeet Narayan Shrestha, a candidate for the post of member of the House of Representatives, demanding that action be taken in accordance with the Election Act, guidelines, procedures and instructions.

Information Officer of the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer Ishwor Acharya informed that as there was a complaint that there was a violation of the election code of conduct by the administration, investigation should be conducted regarding the matter.
