KATHMANDU: The first East-to-West ride, from Kakarbhitta (Nepal-India border) to Mahendra Nagar (Nepal-India border), on a Segway electric scooter E100 was successfully completed by Dhiren Man Shrestha, making history.

The Segway Electric Scooter E100, which was equipped with two batteries and two fast chargers, made the trip successful, ensuring the rider's comfort and convenience throughout the journey, as per a press release.

The trip represents a significant advancement in environmentally-friendly transportation and highlights the utility of electric vehicles for long-distance journeys. Shrestha set off from the eastern border town of Kakarbhitta, equipped with two batteries and two fast chargers, for the six-night, seven-day adventure.

The affordable and cost-effective electric transportation allowed him to only spend Rs 650 on charging costs for the entire trip, promoting eco-friendly transportation options and reducing the demand for fuel.

The Segway electric scooter E100 proved to be a reliable and high-performing companion throughout the journey.
