Alex Abramov scales Everest for 12 times

KATHMANDU, MAY 19

A Russian climber has scaled Mt Everest for the 12th time breaking his own national record for the most summits of the world's highest peak.

'Team leader Alexander Abramov of the 7 Summits Club stood atop the roof of the world on May 18 breaking his own Russian record for the most Everest summits,' Mingma Gelu Sherpa, Managing Director at the Seven Summit Adventure Pvt Ltd.

Along with Alex, at least six members and 12 Nepali climbers from Seven Summit Adventure scaled Mt Everest, he said. 'Alla Mishina, Andrei Poliakov, Kazbek Gyulmagomedov, Michael Kozlov, Evgeny Mulyokov, Rinjen Sherpa, Ngima Thindu Sherpa, Lakpa Galu Sherpa, Nima Dindu Sherpa, Lakpa Sherpa, Mingdukpa Sherpa, Pasang Gelu Sherpa, Milan Sherpa, Dawa Temba Sherpa, Jiban Kulung Rai and Lakpa Sherpa stood atop Everest,' he said, adding that all members have now been descending to lower camps safely.
