Nepal experiences loss to Pakistan in ACC Men's Emerging Teams Asia Cup

KATHMANDU, JULY 14

In the ongoing ACC Men's Emerging Teams Asia Cup held in Sri Lanka, Nepal suffered a defeat against Pakistan. In today's match, Pakistan A emerged victorious, defeating Nepal by 4 wickets.

Winning the toss, Nepal chose to bat first and managed to score 179 runs in 37 overs, losing all their wickets. In response, Pakistan successfully chased the target, reaching 180 runs in 32 overs with the loss of 6 wickets.

During Nepal's batting, Sompal Kami played a crucial innings, scoring 75 runs off 101 balls, including 9 fours and 2 sixes. However, the rest of the team failed to make significant contributions, resulting in a modest total. Shahnawaz Dahani of Pakistan took 5 wickets, while Mohammad Wasim Jr claimed 4 wickets.

On the bowling side, Lalit Narayan Rajbanshi took 3 wickets, Pawan Sharraf took 2 wickets, and Kusal Malla grabbed 1 wicket for Nepal.

In their next match on Monday, Nepal will face India 'A' in a day-night encounter. Their final group stage match will be against UAE 'A' on Wednesday. The tournament comprises of 6 teams divided into two groups, and the top two teams from each group will advance to the semi-finals scheduled for July 21. The winners of the semi-finals will compete for the championship title in the final match on July 23.
