Nepal to face Pak in Asia Cup opener

KATHMANDU: Nepal national cricket team will face Pakistan in the opening match of the ACC Asia Cup in Multan.

As per the schedule announced by the Asian Cricket Council on Wednesday, Nepal will play their first Group A match against hosts Pakistan on August 30. Nepal and Pakistan will then travel to Sri Lanka to play against India in Kandy.

The match between India and Pakistan is scheduled for September 2, while Nepal will take on India on September 4. Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Afghanistan are in Group B. Top two teams from both groups will advance to Super Four. Sri Lanka will host five matches of Super Four in Colombo, while one match will be played in Lahore.

The final is scheduled for September 17 in Colombo. Nepal earned the Asia Cup berth after winning the ACC Premier Cup in Kathmandu in May.
