NEPSE index drops 1.19% to 2200 levels, Rs. 4.73 arba volume

KATHMANDU, JULY 24

In today's trading session, the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) Index concluded at 2,200.50 points, experiencing a decline of 1.19% or 26.66 points from the previous day's closing. This comes after the index had surged significantly by 63.24 points on the previous trading day.

The trading session began with the index opening at 2,227.21 and reaching an intraday high of 2,243.78. However, it showed a downward trend throughout the day, hitting an intraday low of 2,194.41, before settling at 2,200.50 at the closing.

Today's Relative Strength Index (RSI) stood at 67.04, a decrease from the previous day's reading of 73.07. On the other hand, the Moving Average Convergence Divergence (MACD) line crossed above the zero line, with the current MACD reading at 44.79, showing an optimistic sign compared to the previous day's reading of 36.07.

In today's trading, 265 scrips were exchanged through 74,161 transactions, with a significant volume of shares traded, totaling 20,979,887, representing a turnover of Rs. 4.73 Arba. The Float index lost 1.44% and currently stands at 152.58, while the Sensitive index also experienced a decrease of 1.44%, currently at 418.78.

The market capitalization was recorded at Rs. 3.23 Trillion, with the float market capitalization at Rs. 1.14 Trillion.

Nepal Reinsurance Company Limited (NRIC) had the highest turnover, amounting to an impressive Rs. 25.56 crores, and closed at a market price of Rs. 800. SFMF shares were the most actively traded during the session.

Noteworthy, Kisan Lagubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (KLBSL) marked the highest gain of 10%, reaching the positive circuit for the day.

On the other hand, NIBL Growth Fund (NIBLGF) experienced the highest decline of 6.93%.

Regarding sector indices, only two sectors closed in the green, with the 'Others' sector leading with a gain of 2.87%. The 'Development Bank' sector saw the highest loss, declining by 3.50%.
