The body of 32-year-old Manju Karki Rawal, who had been missing for the past one-anda-half months, was found in Bansghari of Mohanyal Rural Municipality, yesterday.

Police have confirmed that Manju was abducted and murdered. Four individuals have been arrested in connection with the murder.

The victim's parents had accused the police of not searching for Manju's whereabouts.

She had gone missing on 8 June 2023. After the mother went missing, her son Bibek had filed complaint with the police asking them to search for his mother.

Manju, who had filed a case related to share of property after the death of her husband Janak Rawal, had won the case. Rawal's first wife Goma had filed a fake case against Manju. She was freed from jail on 8 May 2023 after one month in prison.

Assuring that the land dispute would be settled, an unidentified person had called Manju and she had gone out of contact since June 8.

The arrested are Goma Rawal, Bharat Rawal, Sarita Rawal, and Barsha Rawal.

Police investigation has revealed that Manju was murdered over the land dispute.

According to police, the conflict between Janak Bahadur Rawal's two wives, Goma and Manju, began after his death. Goma had planned to murder Manju with the help of her daughter and nephew.
