Education bill to be tabled in House

KATHMANDU, AUGUST 1
The government has decided to table the much-awaited Federal Education Bill in the federal Parliament.
A meeting of the Council of Ministers today permitted the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology to table the bill in the Parliament to push overall reforms in the education sector. The government claimed that the bill was prepared as part of the plan to advance education sector reforms in line with the federal system. Minister of Communications and Information Technology Rekha Sharma said the decision was taken to put forward the bill through Cabinet's legislative committee following adequate discussion.
It may be noted that Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ,at a public programme, pledged to make Cabinet decision about the bill today.
Likewise, the Cabinet has decided to receive the World Bank's assistance of around Rs 202.2 million for the project 'Restoring the degraded watershed and livelihoods of Lakhandeh River Basin through Sustainable Land Management'. The Cabinet meeting has directed the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development to prepare a necessary proposal to provide relief to farmers affected by the lumpy skin pandemic.
The government is mulling providing relief to farmers who suffered loss caused by the death of livestock with the outbreak of lumpy skin diseasa.
Likewise, necessary process has been taken ahead to provide free vaccination services to infected cattle.
