Two arrested for fatal assault in Biratnagar: Victim killed over chicken egg dispute

KATHMANDU, SEPTEMBER 5

Morang police apprehended two individuals from Biratnagar Metropolitan City -11, Morang district, on Monday evening, in connection with the fatal beating of a fellow resident.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Naresh Mehata (51) and his wife Kumari Tamang (49), both residents of Barampura in Biratnagar metropolis. Their arrest followed an altercation with 70-year-old Hari Kumal, a neighbor in the same locality.

According to the report, the dispute leading to the assault arose from a disagreement over chicken eggs. After the confrontation, both parties returned to their respective homes. Tragically, the police received a report of Kumal's death later in the day. In response, a team from the Area Police Office, Biratnagar, swiftly arrested the husband and wife.

The investigation into the incident is currently ongoing, police said.
