KATHMANDU, SEPTEMBER 10

Police arrested two individuals along with a cash amount of Rs 20 lakhs with unknown sources at Jharahikhola Bridge of Sarawal Rural Municipality-7 of Nawalparasi West on Saturday afternoon.

The arrestees have been identified as 24-year-old Rampat Gupta and 38-year-old Gaffar Rain Kujada from Harpur-2 of Palhinandan Rural Municipality-2.

The duo was arrested by a team of police deployed from District Police Office, Nawalparasi West and the Bhujhawa Police Station during a police inspection. The police team had stopped the On Test motorcycle en route to Maheshpur from Bhujawa. During the search, a substantial amount of cash was found concealed under their garments, secured by a waist belt. The two were immediately taken into custody.

The police are currently conducting further investigations into this incident to ascertain the source and purpose of the seized cash.
