Rai slips down

KATHMANDU: Nepal No 1 professional golfer Sukra Bahadur Rai carded even-par 72 in the second round of the Vizag Open at the East Point Golf Club in Visakhapatnam on Thursday.
Rai slipped two places down to eighth after he posted 36- hole total score of four-under 140 in the INR 10 million event under the Professional Golf Tour of India. He shared the sixth position after he carded impressive four-under 68 in the first round.
Starting the day from the 10th tee, Rai carded two-under 34 on his front nine before faltering to two-over 38 on the latter half. He made a flying start with birdies on the 10th, 11th and 13th holes. Rai then faced four bogeys on the 18th, first, third and fourth holes.
He carded a birdie on the fifth to level the scores for the day and saved pars on the last four holes. He was tied with Indian pro Anshul Patel at 140.
Akshay Sharma opened up three-stroke lead after he carded five-under 67 for nine-under 135 total.
