KATHMANDU, SEPTEMBER 25

The prohibitory order that had been imposed in Malangawa of Sarlahi district for the past five days has been lifted during the daytime. However, the prohibitory order remains unchanged during the night.

A meeting was held at the District Administration Office (DAO) in Sarlahi this morning, and it was decided to lift the prohibitory order imposed from 10:00 pm on September 21 during the daytime but to continue it during the nighttime. The DAO had been enforcing the prohibitory order from 8:00 pm to 4:00 am at night.

The prohibitory order was initially issued from 10:00 pm on September 21 until further notice following a clash between two communities in Malangawa while immersing an idol of Lord Ganesh.

Indra Dev Yadav, the Chief District Officer, stated that the decision to remove the prohibitory order during the day was made because Malangawa, which had been tense since September 21 night, began to return to normalcy from Sunday night.

However, he emphasized that although the prohibitory order has been lifted during the day, any types of gatherings, meetings, demonstrations, rallies are restricted in the Malangawa area due to the potential risk to the safety of the general public.

Malangawa bazaar, as well as transport services, educational institutions, and government offices, have remained completely closed today. However, various business-related organizations are requesting to open the markets.

More than a dozen people, including security personnel, were injured during the clash between the two communities. Rupesh Kumar Yadav of Malangawa municipality-7 was critically injured and is currently receiving treatment in Birgunj.
